This is for those of you..

...who have worn the uniform of our country. One day is not enough to set aside to honor your commitment or the commitment of those whose legacy you keep.
I never wore the uniform, and:
I have never been truly hungry.
I have never been truly thirsty.
I have never been in unbearable weather.
I have never been out of touch with my family.
I have never been threatened because of my beliefs.
I have never been "in harm's way".
I have never had to sleep out in the cold, or unbearable heat.
I have never had to question whether the person I am encountering was a friend, or an enemy.

I have never done any of these things because of you and those who came before you. I thank God for you, and for the liberty you protect. I hope someone says "thank you" on Nov. 11.

My little brother has his feet in the sand right this second just so that I can work where I want tommorow...Father-in-law, burried half his unit in Saigon...

Makes me teary just being appreciative of it all....

My brother-in-law is going to be stationed in Germany for the Air Force. My sister and her family will be on their way over there tonight. Send a prayer up for them. Send one up for my other bother-in-law who is in Iraq right now.

Excellent Post UT1, good stuff. Thanks to all of those who have fought for this country or are still fighting for this country so I have the privledge doing whatever it is I want to do on a daily basis.

Wow. That's a list a lot of people need to read. I think about those things a lot. I've had friends and family who served and currently serve. You get hit hard with reality when you're watching your best friend sobbing uncontrollably after talking to her husband of about a month who is on the front lines in Iraq. It's also great to see her sobbing uncontrollably when he comes back. I've also seen families who stood at the "Welcome Home" knowing their loved one would not be getting off that plane, but they went to show their support for everybody else.

I am honored to know several veterans and am pleased to say 'I support you. May God keep you safe and bring you back home. Despite what a few radicals scream, we do love you, respect you and want you back in these great states.'

Also, don't forget their lives are in turmoil when they get back. Remember, these vets and their families will still need help long after the last streamer falls. Be there for them. They were there for you.

I hope that i will know what all those are like here soon. Im going to meps Friday to get my physical and take my asvab and if everything goes right im leaving for basic training on december 31.
But i would like to thank all of the soldiers who have gave us the right to do whatever we want in a free country.

Damn, that's a rough time to be leaving for training. Whatever ya do choose an MOS that translates to a "real world" job. If not you'll end up like I did...there aren't many civilian jobs that require sitting in a hole for 30 days, laser guiding in bombs or missels, and blowing stuff up..
